Kids Reading Book in Park

We are honored that you are considering The Hearth Room for your family.

The Hearth Room is not a "first-come, first-served" school. Instead, we strive to find the right students and families and ensure that there is a mutually beneficial fit.  We are now accepting applications for children ages 2.5 years through 5th grade for Fall 2022.

Admissions Process

Schedule an Educational Consult

Whether you have already identified The Hearth Room as the ideal destination for your student, or you are just looking for answers to challenges you are facing, this consultation with our Executive Director—an experienced teacher, administrator, and parent—will help you clarify your vision for your child’s future and assess whether The Hearth Room aligns with your objectives.  Click here to make an appointment.  After this, you may also schedule an in-class observation during school hours to see what it looks like in action.

Submit an online application, along with the $50 application fee, and schedule a time for your child to spend an hour or two in class during the school day.

Receive an Invitation to Enroll

Priority is given to full-time, full-payment families with a limited number of part-time enrollment or financial aid invitations.

Submit Enrollment Fee and Packet

Your child's space is officially reserved when we receive your signed agreement and nonrefundable one-time enrollment fee for new students, equal to 5% of annual tuition.

Admissions Requirements

It is the policy of the Hearth Room school to maintain a school environment that is free from discrimination and to conduct its educational practices, admissions program, financial aid policies, hiring, and other school-administrative programs on the basis of an individual’s qualifications and abilities. The School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (unless it is required as a bona fide occupational qualification), sex, national origin, age, marital status, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law, unless a particular status protected by federal, state, or local laws contradict the deeply held religious convictions of Hearth Room school.

Honor

Families are NOT required to sign a statement of faith.  We DO require that families are aware of our beliefs, and that they commit to honor these while on site or at school functions.

Commitment

Our desire is to create a long-term community of peers for our students.  One study of Missouri public schools showed that the best academic results were found in settings where children were in a consistent community at one campus from K-12th grade.
